Have you ever experienced a Spielstraße in your neighbourhood? This is my first time volunteering for a Spielstraße. In Berlin, 22nd September is the official day for Spielstraße. It’s a wonderful event where the streets are completely free of cars, creating a safe, open space for neighbours. It’s amazing to see how this simple change can strengthen community bonds: 👧🏻- Children playing freely without the worry of traffic 🤝- Neighbours getting to know one another better 😋- Sharing delicious coffee, cakes, and even vegetarian BBQ 🔈- Discussing local initiatives, such as energy saving and car sharing But it doesn’t happen automatically. We collect signatures, apply for the day, gather volunteers, and raise some funds to cover the fee. Interested in learning more? Write it here 😃

Democracy needs diversity! Join the Christopher Street Day. 🗓️ Saturday, 27th of July 2024 ⏰ Starting at 12:00 📍From Leipzigerstr. , Berlin 🔗 More Information at: https://csd-berlin.de/route-finale ——————————- 🦄 My own experience When I first set foot in Berlin in 2012, I had the fortuitous opportunity to attend Christopher Street Day (CSD) for the very first time. The experience was nothing short of transformative. Coming from my hometown, where diversity was more a concept than a lived reality, I was immediately struck by the vibrant tapestry of people, cultures, and expressions that converged in Berlin for this grand celebration of pride and inclusivity. As I wandered through the lively streets, adorned with rainbow flags and pulsating with music and joy, I couldn't help but reflect on the stark contrast between Berlin and my own community. It was a poignant reminder of how far we still have to go in embracing and promoting true diversity. The sheer openness and acceptance that permeated the atmosphere at CSD were both heartwarming and eye-opening. Engaging with individuals from all walks of life, each proudly expressing their unique identity, was incredibly inspiring. It was a powerful testament to the beauty of human diversity and the importance of creating spaces where everyone can feel seen and valued. This experience ignited a fervent desire within me to advocate for greater inclusivity and to work towards a society that genuinely celebrates differences. 💜💛💚🖤💙🩵 Photo by Raphael Renter | @raphi_rawr on Unsplash

My niece is currently working as an intern at the Egyptian Biodynamic Association (EBDA). At 18, after completing her Abitur, she decided to gain professional experience in Social Development and Climate Change before continuing her studies. The EBDA, an independent non-governmental organization founded in 1994, is dedicated to promoting organic and biodynamic agriculture in Egypt. It’s a remarkable success story, demonstrating the benefits of transitioning from conventional agriculture to more sustainable practices. Their efforts highlight the long-term impacts of traditional farming on society and the environment, making a compelling case for change. This inspiring initiative is definitely on my list of places to visit and learn from. This transformative tool offers a unique way of finding clarity, both individually and collectively. It fosters interactive reflection, conversation, and action, creating a space for groups, teams, individuals, and families to uncover the answers they seek.   Before choosing a totem, players should think about a question for themselves or the group that they would like to gain clarity on. The game begins with each player selecting a totem – it could be a rock, a ring, a shell, anything meaningful. Placed in the middle of the beautifully designed board, resembling several intertwining rivers, the totems navigate through questions and images revealed by the roll of a dice. Each turn, a card is unveiled, guiding the players deeper into their reflections.   Some questions which might emerge during the game: - From the eagle's perspective: What is the bigger picture we should be paying attention to? - How does my/our personal sense of purpose align with that of the organization? Or not align? - How could we expand our capabilities to act quickly and flexibly? - Who else should be in our team or organization so that we can create the future we desire? I've personally participated in three moderated sessions with different groups. What stands out is the profound impact of each question card. The diverse perspectives and inquiries from other participants often lead to unexpected and enriching reflections. On a personal level, my husband and I have used the Flow Game to help design our future, bringing vision and clarity to our relationship. The versatility of the Flow Game is extraordinary. It can be played in professional settings, community groups, and even on a personal level. The only limitation is the need for a trained host to moderate the game. Despite this, I wholeheartedly recommend it.   For more information, check out the Flow Game on https://www.interchange-tomo.com/flow-game-1
