“The next global climate strike is on September 20th, 2024. Help us fund the demonstration in Berlin with your donation! Every contribution counts!”
On September 20th, the global climate strike is happening again. On this day, people all over the world will be striking, and like many other local groups in Germany, Berlin is also planning a demonstration. In the capital, right in front of those in power, we will show that the current climate protection measures are insufficient. With a strong program and masses of people, we’ll make noise – noise for the right to a future.
To make this happen, various things need to be funded. A major cost is the equipment needed for such a demonstration, like barricades or food for the helpers on the day of the strike. Expenses range from €5 for a roll of barrier tape, a few hundred euros for printing posters, to several thousand euros for a stage with sound equipment. Some examples are listed below. The donations will be used directly and without detours for the climate strike on September 20th, and any remaining funds will be used for future projects of FFF Berlin. So every contribution counts, no matter how big or small!
Your contribution, whether large or small, helps us put together a demonstration! The more support we receive, the louder and bigger we can be. And with a monthly donation, you enable us to keep the pressure up even after the climate strike!
Who is Fridays for Future Berlin?
We are the Berlin branch of the global climate justice movement Fridays for Future. Since 2018, we have been organizing demonstrations and school strikes for climate-friendly and socially just policies entirely on a voluntary basis. Our main goal is to ensure that global warming does not exceed 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels. The climate crisis is already causing extreme weather events like floods and wildfires, along with harmful heat records. These and other crises caused by the climate crisis affect all of us. We see that things won’t change on their own. Instead, we must stay active as a broad civil society alliance so that the right decisions are made at the political level and the climate crisis is addressed instead of clinging to climate-damaging fossil energy. The time to fight back is now, and it takes all of us.
