We want to educate young and old about the connections between their own food, global agriculture and the climate. To this end, we have set up the 2000 m² global field - as much as is theoretically available to everyone!
A new chapter born from crisis In October 2024, our project was shaken by a major setback: our field house in Berlin-Pankow burned down completely. At first, we were devastated. But what followed was overwhelming – a huge wave of solidarity, support, and encouragement from all sides.  You showed us that our work matters – and that we’re not alone. This experience also opened our eyes to how fragile our structures are, and how important it is to become more resilient and diversified. Our World Field in Berlin is growing and thriving – and now we’re ready for the next step: A second Global Field is taking root – right in the heart of Berlin, on the grounds of the historic Späth Arboretum. Why a second Global Field? The new field is not just about increasing our resilience – it’s about making our work more accessible to people across the city and expanding our thematic focus. While our first World Field in Pankow represents what global agriculture looks like today, the new Global Field asks: How do we want to farm in the future – in the midst of climate change, shrinking resources, and a growing global population?  🌱 A second Global Field – Experiencing tomorrow’s agriculture Starting in 2025, a 660 m² agroecological laboratory will be built in the Späth Arboretum: a space for experimenting with resilient farming methods, climate-adapted crops, and ecological alternatives to industrial agriculture – from all around the world.   Examples include:  Wheat-pea intercropping from Germany Milpa system from Mexico Clay pot irrigation from EthiopiaJust like our first site, the Global Field is meant to be a place for learning and experiencing – for school groups, city gardeners, casual strollers, and anyone interested in a fairer, more climate-friendly approach to food and farming. We’re not here to preach – we want to inspire curiosity, invite participation, and build a space of shared learning and discovery. 💚 Why we need your support The new Global Field is more than just a new location – it’s a symbol of hope, diversity, and a sustainable future. But to bring it to life, we need your help:  For building infrastructure, removing access barriers, for plants, seeds, tools, and soil, for workshops, educational materials, and events, and for the people who will make this place thrive Every donation helps. Every contribution counts. Thank you for being part of this movement!
